In Memoriam: Windsor

Remembering windsor

Many of you might remember Windsor as the Cover Boy of our 2015 Basset Rescue Calendar (or maybe as Mr. July). Many of you might also remember him as the cordial host of the Basset Waddle held at his Spingbank home a few years ago. It is with very heavy hearts that we report Windsor’s recent passing this summer at the too young age of 11-yrs old.

However it is that you do remember him, we at the Rescue will always know him as the quintessential basset – sweet and gentle to the core and always up to some sort of innocent (maybe!) mischief. Our sympathies go out to Rhonda and her family for his loss and we know that, if ever there was a perfect life for a basset, Windsor most definitely had it.

  1. I was so sad to hear of Windsor’s passing. The off leash park at John Laurier and 19th St. won’t be the same without him. Hunter and I will miss seeing him waddling behind Connie and Scarlet, being stubborn and cute as a button.
He was a handsome boy who loved life and he will always be remembered.

  2. I wanted to tell Rhonda and her mom that I am deeply sorry for their loss.It is so hard when we lose our beloved pet.I will never forget this precious boy.

  3. I was sorry to hear of your loss. Needless to say our furry friends are held dear in our hearts. I have laid to rest two Basset friends-Chase and Paddy. Their loss fair broke my heart but fortunately I have a lot of love to share. A friend recently gave me a beagle called Saffron for a retirement gift!!
