In Memoriam: Tilley

tilley

We are sad to announce the recent passing of Tilley. Tilley was one of the bassets that came to the Calgary Basset Rescue from the United States in 2012. She came to us from a very difficult background and had been mistreated for a long time. Tilley, however, was a strong and a brave soul who soon found her new home with Jim Burtwell and his family.

After receiving much love and care, Tilley grew to overcome her fears and become a loyal and loved member of her new family and her pack. Supper always brought a rapid lap of the kitchen, aka the Basset Boogie. Her other favourite pass time was stealing, in the blink of an eye, any treats left in Hound Territory.

Jim says: “I would like to thank the Calgary Basset Rescue for bringing Tilley to Canada so she could be a part of our lives. She was a very special friend. Our lives were richer for our time with Tilley.”
