Helen is the Adoption and Transport Coordinator and, along with assistance from Janet and her husband Chris, does all the administrative stuff connected with the rescue. She has 2 hounds - Fleur (a full basset) & Monty (a basset/beagle mix a.k.a. a bagle-mutt). Fleur has led a charmed life having been brought into the family at 16 weeks and has never known a day of hardship; Monty was adopted into the family when he was around 1 after finding himself in the caring hands of Montana Basset Rescue. He'd been wandering the streets of Helena for at least 3 months when he was picked up, and has made a wonderful sibling for Fleur and second furbaby for his 'parents'. Fleur and Monty are soon getting a 2-legged sibling to add to their pack - so if it's taking Helen longer than usual to answer her e-mail you all know why!!!

Janet Naclia is the Foster Family & Volunteer Coordinator for Calgary Basset Rescue. Janet organizes home visits, sorts out foster applications, and helps foster families and their charges enjoy their time together. Like with all of the positions at the rescue, Janet volunteers her time willingly. With two rescue hounds of her own, she knows the difference it can make in a dog’s life. Janet’s basset pack includes: Cleopatra, Samuela, and Grandma Lucy.
Rhonda along with Kelly and an army of other volunteers is organizing the 2010 Hound Olympics this year on Saturday September 25, 2010. Rhonda also screens potential adoptors and is committed to making the Calgary Basset Rescue a charitable organization in the near future. With one much loved (and much spoiled!) basset hound of her own named Windsor she wants to give back to the Basset Community and to other hounds less fortunate than her personal furbaby.

Kelly has been volunteering with the Calgary Basset Rescue since late 2009. So far, she has made 2 trips to Sweet Grass, USA to pick up almost a dozen hounds needing a home. Many more to come! She will also be performing home assesments soon. She is currently working hard with Rhonda on the Hound Olympics Event coming up on September 25th.
Kelly "fell" for the basset breed thanks to the legendary, Tracker, a beautiful beagle-basset who passed at the age of 11 in 2008. She now has a basset named Molly as a cherished member of her family. Kelly and her husband will always bassets in their family. They are beautiful creatures with a heart of gold. All the want to do is love and to be loved.
